A homeowner in Little Horsted approached us looking for a gated entrance that would provide privacy, security, and style. Their brief included a traditional timber gate design with improved visibility from within the property. The gates were to be hung on existing brick piers and fully automated for everyday use without compromising the clean appearance of the entrance.

Our Approach

We recommended Iroko hardwood gates in a swan top design, fitted with vision bars to allow controlled visibility through the gate while maintaining privacy. This offered a balance between openness and seclusion. For a discreet and tidy finish, we selected Roger Technology below-ground operators, hidden from view but built for reliable long-term use. The gates were made to measure and tailored to fit perfectly between the existing brick piers.

The Installation

The custom Iroko gates were installed and securely mounted to the brick piers, treated with a UV-protective oil to help preserve the wood’s rich colour and natural grain. The addition of vision bars provided clear sightlines from the property without compromising security. The Roger Technology below-ground automation was fitted with care, ensuring smooth and quiet operation while keeping all equipment neatly out of sight.
