The Challenge

Our client in Barcombe approached us with a clear vision: they had seen an image of a traditional Iroko gate online and wanted the same design for their rural property. The gate needed to provide both security and visual appeal, while blending naturally with the countryside setting. In addition to the gate, the customer required the side access to be fully enclosed without compromising on style or quality.

Our Approach

Working closely with the client, we sourced the reference image and arranged for the gate to be bespoke made using high-quality Iroko hardwood. Known for its durability and rich grain, Iroko was the perfect choice for a long-lasting manual gate that would sit comfortably in a rural landscape. To complement the installation, we also designed a fencing layout that would offer practical enclosure while maintaining a traditional appearance.

The Installation

We installed the custom Iroko gate with manual operation, carefully positioning it to align with the property’s entrance layout. To secure the rest of the access area, we fitted bays of chestnut post and rail fencing – a popular choice for countryside homes. The combination of hardwood and natural fencing not only provided a functional solution but also reflected the surrounding rural character of the property.
