The Challenge

A homeowner looking for electric hardwood gates in Albourne needed a system that combined style with genuine everyday functionality. The brief included automated vehicle gates with independent in and out access, a matching pedestrian gate for visitors and deliveries, and a discreet fencing solution to keep their dog safely contained – all without compromising the natural feel of the property.

Our Approach

We recommended Iroko hardwood swing gates, supported by solid oak gate posts. Iroko is an excellent choice for automated driveway gates – naturally durable, low maintenance, and attractive in appearance. The oak posts complemented the timber and provided a strong, stable foundation suited to the weight and movement of automated gates.

To meet the access requirements, we installed separate automated in and out vehicle gates, allowing smooth entry and exit without reversing or waiting. A matching pedestrian gate was fitted alongside, maintaining visual continuity while providing a practical access point for foot traffic and deliveries.

For the boundary, we proposed meshed chestnut post and rail fencing. This gave the traditional, open appearance of a rural fence while the galvanised mesh provided the containment needed to keep the family dog secure – practical without feeling heavy or enclosed.
