Automated Cantilever Sliding Gate Installation at Arlington Reservoir

The Challenge

South East Water required a robust and low-maintenance gate solution for the public car park at their Arlington Reservoir site. The system needed to provide secure vehicle access during set hours, while allowing for occasional out-of-hours entry. With a focus on reliability, ease of use, and public safety, the gate also had to suit a high-traffic environment without compromising performance.

Our Approach

We specified a galvanised steel box section cantilever sliding gate – a durable option ideal for commercial settings where ground conditions or traffic volume rule out traditional swing gates. The system was designed to operate on a timed schedule, opening automatically each morning and closing in the evening, reducing the need for manual operation. To manage occasional out-of-hours access, we integrated a Videx GSM intercom system, allowing communication with on-site or remote staff when needed.
